Money need a destination
Money, being a flow, need a destination.
Oftentimes your attention is on the flow and you lose the sight of the destination.
Being focused on the process is fine if at any given point of time you can clearly state, or better show written down, the purpose of what you are doing.

Yesterday was the last full day of the trip and so we went for a dinner to a sea-food restaurant to micro-celebrate. The place had great reviews so I went ahead and ordered lots of interesting dishes. The food turned out to be rather mediocre and way below the expectation level set by the restaurants we previously visited. The bill was high as well.
On the way back home I reproached myself for spending so much money on a single dinner and contrasted it with the tiny amounts I make trading—something i am trying to develop as a second income source. I then thought that I could use most of the bill amount for trading to make more money to ... And then i realized clearly that i am working on making more money to afford exactly a kind of an unplanned enjoyment like a dinner at a good restaurant. I felt that the money was flowing the right way and it made me feel content with the situation.
